Samir had been dreaming about an African Safari for over 20 years. It took two milestones - our father's 80th birthday and our parents' 50th wedding anniversary - for my sister Vijayalakshmi aka VJ and I to plan Samir's dream vacation.

In between amazing safaris filled with wildlife sightings, we also visited a Masai village. Inspired by their stories and moved by their need for basic education, we started a nonprofit (Every Child Counts) and are working on adopting a school there, but more of that later.
